.talking research with Theo Livesey

We present a conversation with Theo Livesey – a performer and maker working in dance, theatre, and the written word. Since graduating from P.A.R.T.S. in 2016, he has been working with Gisèle Vienne as a performer and constructing his own work on stage and on the page, as well as engaging in various collaborative working processes.

We talk to Theo about what research means in his life and work, what practices/forms of research, its structuring and creation he uses, how research can simply be a state of being in the world and how and why choreography/dance in his work and practice is associated with writing. Also, why Theo describes his artistic practice as “research into fictioning” and what does it mean.

Chapter 5 Extract from the solo work MUTUAL (nsfw)
